This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Funny Therapist ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use it. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
Funny Therapist is a narrative therapy-simulation game. You play the role of a fictional therapist, and fictional clients come to you with scripted stories. The App is intended for entertainment and is not a medical, psychological, or therapeutic service, and it does not collect health information about you.
1. Who We Are
The App is developed and operated by Murat Meşe (the "Developer"). For any questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us using the contact details at the end of this document.
2. Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. Depending on how you use the App and the features you enable, the following categories may apply.
2.1 Information you provide
The App can be played without creating an account. If you choose to use optional account or sign-in features, we may process a basic account identifier so your progress can be saved and restored. We do not ask you to provide sensitive personal information to play.
2.2 Information collected automatically
To keep the App running reliably and to understand how it is used in aggregate, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage data, such as:
| Category | Examples | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Device & technical data | Device model, operating system version, language, app version, anonymous device or installation identifiers | Compatibility, troubleshooting, crash diagnostics |
| Usage & gameplay data | Sessions started, screens viewed, in-game choices and progress, feature interactions | Improving content and the experience |
| Diagnostic data | Crash logs, error reports, performance metrics | Fixing bugs and maintaining stability |
| Purchase data | Transaction status and product identifiers for any in-app purchases (handled by the app store and our payment provider) | Delivering and restoring purchases |
The in-game choices you make are part of a fictional game scenario. They are not records about your real mental health and are not treated as health data.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features;
- To save and restore your in-game progress where that feature is used;
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance and stability;
- To understand, in aggregate, how the App is used so we can improve content and design;
- To process and restore in-app purchases and subscriptions;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising profiling.
4. Service Providers
We use trusted third-party services to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf and only as needed to deliver their services. They may include:
- Google Firebase (e.g. hosting, backend data, analytics, and crash reporting) — see Google's Firebase Privacy & Security and Google Privacy Policy.
- App distribution and payment platforms (Apple App Store and/or Google Play) for downloads, in-app purchases, and subscriptions — governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
- Subscription management providers used to deliver and restore in-app purchases.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
5. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the App you requested); our legitimate interests (keeping the App secure, stable, and improved); your consent where required (for example, certain analytics where consent is requested); and compliance with legal obligations.
6. Data Retention
We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Aggregated or anonymized data that can no longer identify you may be retained for longer. If you use an account feature, your saved progress is kept until you request deletion or the account is removed.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and the right to data portability. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
You can also manage certain data directly:
- Reset progress / delete in-app data through the App's settings, where available;
- Manage subscriptions through your Apple or Google account settings;
- Request account or data deletion by contacting us at the email below.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the "Contact Us" section. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process and store data on servers located in countries other than yours, including outside your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-Party Links
The App or this policy may reference third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and this policy does not apply to them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
